A Home Remedy For Piles – Or Hemorrhoids
Pain or itching in the anal area may indicate piles. Piles, or hemorrhoids, as they are also called, are a group of swollen or inflamed blood vessels within the rectum.
What are piles, or hemorrhoids?
A hemorrhoid is an itchy, and often times, painful mass of swollen veins in the rectum or around the anal area that result in a hard lump.
Getting rid of hemorrhoids, either internal or external, used to be a not-so-simple thing to do. Not anymore… I’ll explain more in a moment! But first, let’s review the most common ways of getting rid of hemorrhoids.
Having piles can be extremely uncomfortable or even painful! The good news is, there is an easy home remedy for hemorrhoids! However, before we get into the home treatment of hemorrhoids, let’s first go over what hemorrhoids actually are.
There are only two types of hemorrhoids; external and internal… External hemorrhoids are painful while internal hemorrhoids usually are not.
The most common symptom of an internal hemorrhoid is blood covering the stool, a condition known as hematochezia. They may protrude through the anus. Symptoms of external hemorrhoids include painful swelling or lump around the anus.
External hemorrhoids occur outside of the anus, and are visible. This is the type of hemorrhoid associated with most pain and itching. The most common external hemorrhoid symptoms include:
* Passing blood with stools
* Pain in the anal area during a bowel movement
* Painful swell or a hard lump around the anus
* Burning and itching around the anus
* Prolonged pain in the anal area after a bowel movement
Internal hemorrhoids occur up inside the rectum; therefore, can’t be seen. They’re actually located higher in the anal canal where there are few pain receptors. Even though this type of hemorrhoid is usually not associated with much pain, if any, bleeding can still occur when passing stools.
What are the causes of hemorrhoids?
There are a few different causes of hemorrhoids that can put stress on the anal area and cause veins become swollen. These causes include:
* Heavy lifting
* Staying seated for long periods of time
* Straining to have a bowel movement
* Not drinking enough water
* Not eating enough fiber
* Being overweight
* Simply aging
* and genetics
Hemorrhoids usually don’t go away on their own; therefore, so it’s a good idea to treat them as soon as you can. The sooner they’re treated, the better.
Some simple lifestyle changes to maintain softer stools and regular bowel movements can be effective in preventing hemorrhoids in the first place. Softer stools make emptying the colon easier and they lessen pressure on the anus.
Is there a treatment for hemorrhoids?
Yes, home remedies for piles exist! Aside from living a preventative lifestyle, this home remedy for piles can also keep them from coming back forever!
